humanized antibody

humanized antibody
Usually a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against a target of particular therapeutic value that has been modified to have all regions except the antigen-binding portion substituted by human immunoglobulin domains. The procedure should make the antibody minimally antigenic when administered to patients though some anti-idiotype antibodies may still be made to the antigen binding site.
